Top 3 Hermès purchases under $1000

Luxury items can really be quite expensive, and I've had some experiences in the past where I've paid a premium price for an item which was average or sub-par. I now choose to buy my items with a little more thought and research.

For those who may be new to Hermès, I wanted to recommend 3 items which I think are worthwhile to buy, if you're looking to start a small collection, for under AUD1000 (~USD775).

I will include RRP for these per the Hermès Australian website!

Before I get started, I wanted to point out that I am by no means a Hermès expert, and a lot of what I have to say is based on my own research or own opinion.

Number 1 pick: Hermès silk scarf - 90 x 90 cm

Hermès is absolutely known for its quality silk products, and offers a range of sizes including 50 x 50cm, 90 x 90cm, and 140 x 140cm.

I recommend the 90 x 90 cm, which is one which I believe you can the most wear, at a reasonable price of RRP AUD715 (~USD550). The scarf is 100% silk, and comes in a range of patterns, colours and themes depending on the season. Whilst most of the colour themes are full of character and vibrant, they are very wearable when paired with a neutral coloured outfit. These scarves can be worn in multiple ways including simply around you neck, as a top, at the waist or as a head scarf. Some also frame the silk piece up as an artwork in their homes!

I personally have a double faced one (which retails for a little more than the standard scarf), which is extremely versatile and good value for money.

I think if you are starting off at Hermès, or want to build your profile, and want to buy a decent piece that you will genuinely wear, definitely consider this!

Number 2 pick: Hermès Calvi Card Holder

I absolutely love card holders however don't own one (yet) and I really adore the Hermès Calvi Card Holder. I love that there are 2 symmetrical pockets for this holder which allows for a bit more room to use. The fact that there are no set slots means that you can hold a lot more, a good 15 cards. I think this one is especially good if you tend to carry a lot of cards (like me)! I love that there is a clasp closure too, so no one is able to see all your cards like the traditional card holder, plus added security.

RRP for this piece ranges depending on the leather type from RRP AUD500 -AUD655 (~USD385 - USD500). It comes in a range of leathers (in order from least to most expensive: Epsom calfskin, Evercolor calfskin, Mysore goatskin, Chamkila goatskin) and a wide spectrum of colours. I personally love the leather colours at Hermès, they are really so vibrant and rich in tone.

I'm not too sure if this would count towards building your profile as it is a leather item, but this is a very well-priced card holder on the market, as compared the hugely popular Chanel card holder, which is a little more expensive. For me, I also love how understated this piece is. Unless you're a true Hermès fan, you won't know even know that this is a luxury brand item!

Final pick: Hermès Clic H Bracelet

I've never been fully satisfied with designer brand fashion jewelry, but I must say I love the Clic H Bracelet.

A timeless design, oval frame to fit the natural curve of the wrist, and the famous H clasp closure, this bracelet is so beautiful and is comfortable to wear. The bracelet is made of enamel, with a wide array of colours to choose from, and is plated in gold, palladium or rose gold. In my opinion, this is really a piece that is able to lift up an outfit. If you wanted to really make a statement, stack it up with more bracelets or add a tennis bracelet to dress it up.

This retails for AUD895 (~USD690) and in my opinion a piece that is worthy to spend. I've had mine now for over 5 years and it is definitely one that I reach for 90% of the time.

For more versatility and wear, I would recommend going with a more neutral colour, or one that is not too contrasting if you tend to wear colours.

And with that, this wraps up my top 3 picks under $1000 from Hermès!

See you next time!

xx
